With our dream boxing match now on tap for May 2nd, who do you think will win? Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao? C'mon, admit it... it's not an easy choice or one to take lightly as both these fighters have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are the King's of the ring for this generation. It's time now for all of us to speculate and debate who will win this epic showdown. In a recent poll conducted by Sports Nation (ESPN), I found the results from American fans thus far very interesting.
Out of 30,205 votes calculated from American fans polled, what I found interesting was how more votes calculated for a knockout victory went to Pacquiao, while more votes went for Mayweather to win by decision, but adding both scores together and the winner of the poll was Pacquiao.
Winner by Knockout:
Only 6% felt Mayweather could win by knocking out Pacquiao, but a solid number of 25% felt Pacman would win by scoring a KO on Mayweather.
Winner by decision:
When it came to wining the fight by a decision, Mayweather gathered 38% of the votes and Pacquiao took in 27%.
4 percent of those polled feel the fight would end in a draw.
Totals when you combine the votes for KO and decision: 44% cast a vote that would see Mayweather as the winner (By either KO or decision).
52% cast a vote that would see Pacquiao as the winner (By either KO or decision)
The winner of this poll...
Manny Pacquiao - 52%.
