Relax folks, it was just a f%cking parody! Recently at Doghouse Boxing, our very own icheehuahua released a parody "Who's Your Daddy". It was a parody with Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer (You can see the image on this page). It was only meant as a joke (as are all our parodies)... however, shortly after releasing the parody image, rumors started popping up of a rift between De La Hoya and Schaefer. The image was created - released, and then and only then (after we released the parody) did the rumor start popping up.
Perhaps there is a rift between the two (We wouldn't know), but Chee's parody had nothing to do with that - According to our Chee: "The image was created because Schaefer is great with making people money... a smart business man... and who wouldn't be proud to call him Daddy under those circumstances? Plus the on going joke for years has been that Schaefer runs the show for Golden Boy - it is just a parody for fans to enjoy. I had not heard of any rumors of a rift prior to making the parody."
If rumors started popping up after our image was released... then that's the power of a good parody, but they are and will always be 100% jokes. On the internet things can often take a life of their own - and no one has control over that.
So is there an actual rift between the two? Well, De La Hoya (Today) took to his twitter account and posted: "Regarding all these rumors about my company and Richard Schaefer, I will be setting the record straight soon."
