Just how close are we to getting Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Miguel Cotto? Late Thursday afternoon, according to boxing promoter Oscar De La, both sides are very close to working out a deal and expects an announcement to be made at anytime.
De La Hoya stated,
"We’re close, very close," in regards to nailing down Cotto vs. Canelo.
De La Hoya added:
"It’s just little details, nothing major."
The event is expected to go down on Nov. 7 or Nov. 21. The frontrunner to host the event is the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas is also another possible site.
At this moment, nothing has been finalized.
