Amir Khan believes his former trainer, Freddie Roach would be a perfect mix for Nathan Cleverly. Earlier this month, Cleverly suffered his first professional defeat to Russia's Sergey Kovalev.

Speaking on the BBC Radio Wales Sport, Khan regarding why Roach could help build Cleverly back up, Khan stated: "If you look at me when I got beaten by Prescott in my first defeat, Freddie brought me back and I became a two-time world champion."

Khan went on to add: "I think that will be amazing for him (Nathan Cleverly) if he goes to America (and trains with Roach). It will be a big change for him in his career but I really believe it will make a big difference and he'll come back a different fighter. Nathan's got a lot of talent so I think he needs to move away and focus on himself now."
