Freddie Roach on why Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao still has a Shot

Freddie Roach.
While most of us are still dreaming about it, Freddie Roach still has hope. Roach still believes Floyd 'Money' Mayweather vs. his fighter, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao still has a shot at happening. The Hall of Fame trainer reckons that there aren't too many PPV (pay-per-view) attractions out there for both fighters and for that reason alone he gives the fight a chance that it will happen.

"I still have hope," Roach was recently quoted as saying on ESPN, adding: "Mayweather's in the same position (Pacquiao) is. You've only got eight fighters in the world that can sell on pay-per-view and make money. That's why I give it a shot."

If Roach had a fear regarding the bout, it's that he hopes the fight doesn't happen when it is too late and both fighters are already washed up, because: "Then they're just doing it for the money, anyway."

Pacquiao returns to the ring on November 23rd at The Venetian, Macau, China vs. Brandon 'Bam Bam' Rios.
