Doghouse Boxing - With Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys inviting Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Bob Arum to sit in his private box and take in Super Bowl XLV, you can't fault anyone for wondering if the big fight (Manyweather vs. Pacquiao) was discussed.

Apparently, and perhaps unfortunately, no boxing was discussed. Arum, Manny Pacquiao's promoter was quoted by various media outlets stating as much. Sorry guys, I too wish I could be reporting otherwise... but there is some good stuff to report that came from it all.

Quoted recently by USA Today, Arum did speak out on his time with Mayweather in Jerry's private box. Arum on the meeting with Mayweather, stated: "We parted great friends."

Arum went on to point out that the opportunity to hook up with Mayweather did not mean that a fight with Pacquiao would happen. "This was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the person," stated Arum, adding: "Not that it means a fight is going to happen, or that we're going to promote a fight with him, just to reconnect with Floyd as a person. And that really happened. On a personal level, it was satisfying."

Hopefully the meeting and the the feelings both parties had for one another continues. I, just like every boxing fan on the planet is craving a bout between Mayweather and Pacquiao... and if the road towards the mega bout started on Super Bowl Sunday... then we can all thank Jerry Jones for his role in it!
