According to Kevin Iole who writes for Yahoo, Promoter Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, has categorically ruled out an immediate rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao defeated Marquez on Saturday night by way of Spilt decision and now Arum's next plan for Pacquiao is a fight against David Diaz. Diaz who fought on the undercard, won his bout against Roman Montano by way of majority decision. Arum is hoping to pit Pacquiao against Diaz on June 28th.

Quoted on Yahoo in regards to an immediate rematch, Arum said during an exchange with Golden Boy Promotions CEO and Marquez's promoter, Richard Schaefer: “I’m not saying they’ll never fight again, but you have to let it bake for a while.”

Arum who has in the past been vocal and frustrated over some of the decision he has seen in boxing was clearly happy his fighter took home the victory. “I realize how stupid I’ve sounded when I questioned decisions in the past,” said Arum, adding: “I’ve been one of the most vocal, but we have to learn to accept close decisions.”
