Zab Judah's camp on Monday made it public at a press conference that they want Shane Mosley to submit to a private blood test before their scheduled bout on May 31 in Las Vegas. The blood test is to ensure the Mosley is not using any performance enhancing drugs. Judah's camp feels admission of past use of performance-enhancing drugs, makes the request reasonable.

At the press conference, Judah's promoter, Michael Shinefield in regards to wanting a drug test prefomed on
Mosley, stated: "This is an honest concern." Shinefield added: "He's admittedly said he took it."

The Los Angeles Times reports that in a March 13 e-mail obtained by the publication, Shinefield formally requested to Golden Boy Promotions that Mosley submit a blood test. The e-mail said the blood test should go to a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory.

"We would be willing to absorb all cost associated with this test for both fighters," Shinefield wrote in the e-mail obtained by the LA Times. "Please understand that this ends any and all speculation of doping by either fighter. With the fight being touted as 'High Stakes,' it's only just that every step is taken to ensure a fair fight. We hope Shane agrees!"
