Joe Calzaghe is very upbeat in regards to his upcoming battle against Bernard Hopkins. The two are set to face off against one another on April 19th at The Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV.

Recently quoted on Times Online, Calzaghe is fully aware that Hopkins makes other fighters look bad, but is confident it won't happen to him. Calzaghe stated: "Hopkins is good at making people look bad but he won't do that to me." Calzaghe added: "That's the only way he can handle me and that's why he's
not a fighter who is very well loved."

Calzaghe went on to diss Hopkins for not being exciting in his fights, stating: "Hopkins has hardly ever been in any exciting fights and he's very negative. He'll do everything he can to knock me out of my rhythm because he knows I'm stronger, faster and fitter than him."

Calzaghe has respect for Hopkins, but feels Hopkins isn't as good as he thinks he is. "I respect him but Hopkins is not as good as he thinks he is. He had a good run as champion but he hasn't reigned for as long as me nor beaten the quality of opponents I've beaten."
