Ricky Hatton on Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Tears Shed

Ricky Hatton has always been a straight up kind of person. It was part of his characteristic that I personally enoyed when he was still an active boxer. In a recent interview with David Anderson of the Mirror, Hatton once again speaks from his heart and tells it like it is.

Losing to both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. as well as retirement from the sport has been hard on Hatton.

Recently Hatton took a tear over the fact he will not be fighting again. "I watched ringside the other night and they showed a clip of my weigh-in for the Mayweather fight," stated Hatton, adding: "It brought a tear to my eye because every time I see a TV clip, I think, 'That's never going to happen again'."

Hatton went on to add: "After the Pacquiao fight I was sulking, depressed and drowning my sorrows."

Hatton recently suffered through depression coupled with drug and alcohol abuse. These days Hatton seems happier and has come to terms with retirement. He and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Dooley are expecting their first child together sometime in the summer.
