No shame in Losing to Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao - Why Ricky Hatton should make a Boxing Comeback...

Ricky Hatton
There is a good reason for thinking that Ricky Hatton might make a Boxing comeback. Recent reports in the media seem to confirm that Oscar De La Hoya with his company Golden Boy Promotions have approached Hatton's side with a multi million dollar deal to face Erik Morales.

Should Hatton make a comeback? I say yes. Let me explain... When Hatton first retired, I was happy for him and retirement (or an extended vacation) was what I wanted for him... but after retirement Hatton's life seemed like it was going in a downward spiral. He was drinking hard, was having issues with his family life, and then reports of drug usage came out. He was rarely seen in public.

These days however, Hatton has cut his drinking rate significantly (limiting himself to a few drinks every two weeks.) He is off the drugs. He has been seen in public at many ringside events.

Hatton has publicly stated time and time again how hard it has been to let go of the sport. He seems to have issues in the way he walked away from the game. A comeback will help him face these issues straight on. Maybe with losses to Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather has made him feel like a chump... but lets be serious, no one is going to hold against him those two losses. He lost to the best of the best... there is no shame in that.

At this point, a few more boxing matches... I think Hatton has it in him. I'd like to see him comeback home to the boxing ring.

If he doesn't... that's fine too... but then he will always be left to wonder. I don't think Hatton can live with that.

Should I really have to remind all that Hatton was always exciting? Even against Pacquiao... he came out like a Lion but was crushed by a dragon... but the point is he came out hungry as hell with the meanest intentions. He gave his all against Mayweather too. Isn't that what we want from our fighters? Win or Lose.... just give us your all! Hatton did just that, and maybe it's time for him to consider giving us some more.

The lights are once again calling for Hatton. How about an Encore, Ricky?!
