Bernard Hopkins took care of Jean Pascal with a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday in Montreal, Canada. Looking at the boxing punch statistics shows that Hopkins schooled Pascal.

Punch stats are usually a pretty good indicator of who really won the fight. Here is a rundown of the punch statistics compiled by Compubox.

Jean Pascal threw 377 punches over 12 rounds and landed 77 of those punches, giving him a connect rate ot 19%. Bernard Hopkins threw 409 punches over 12 rounds and landed 131 of those punches, giving him a connect rate of 32%.

Pascal threw 140 jabs and landed 19 to give him a connect rate of 14%. Hopkins threw 174 jabs and landed 51 to give him a connect rate of 29%

Pascal threw 237 power punches, landing 51 for a connect rate of 22%. Hopkins threw 235 power punches, landing 80 for a connect rate of 34%.

The numbers obviously favor Hopkins by a decent margin.
