Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz gets Big TV deal after very intense negotiations

The big Boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Victor Ortiz now has an offical home in regards to TV. The September 17th bout has officially landed on HBO-PPV (Pay-per-view) after CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer on Wednesday reached a final agreement with HBO. (HBO is owned by Time Warner).

Apparently the negotiations were anything but easy. Quoted on ESPN in regards to reaching a deal with the HBO, Schaefer stated: "We have finalized our deal with HBO. We obviously had very intense negotiations."

Schaefer went onto tell the publication: "What we wanted to do is ensure that all the different Time Warner assets will be in play one way or the other, including the Turner Broadcasting assets and the Time Inc. assets, which is their magazines."

It looks like this is shaping up to be one explosive promotion on behalf of Golden Boy and Time Warner... which obviously is great for boxing.
