Drug test Results for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr & Sergio Martinez now Public

By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. - Ahead of their boxing clash set for September 15th, on TV with HBO PPV (pay-per-view), both Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez submitted to random drug tests (as requested by the Boxing Commision) earlier this month. The results of the drug testing of both fighters is now public.

According to information released by Keith Kizer on behalf of the N.S.A.C. (Nevada State Athletic Commission), both Chavez Jr. and Martinez have tested clean showing no signs of illegal drugs or performance enhancing steroids.

The N.S.A.C. also confirmed that urine samples will be required by both fighters on the day the fight. They will both need to submit samples before they step into the ring and after their fight is over.

It's great to see the N.S.A.C. taking random drug tests of fighters in high profile fights. Hopefully this is a trend that continues... especially since many fighters in recent times have failed their drug tests. Boxers such as Lamont Peterson, Andre Berto, Antonio Tarver and Enzo Maccarinelli have failed tests hanging over their heads.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Sergio Martinez will go down at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. It's certainly a fan's fight and not one to miss.
