By Johnny Benz, Doghouse Boxing. - Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. In lightweight Boxing action on Friday night, Juan Carlos "Mini" Burgos defeated Cesar "Saba" Vazquez with a 3rd round T.K.O.

In the 3rd round, Burgos unleashed a series of punches that had Vazquez in trouble and made Referee Tony Weeks step in and call a halt to the action at 1 min. 15 seconds.

With the victory, Burgos sees his pro record improve to 30-1, with 20 KOs. Vazquez tasted defeat for the first time and saw his record drop to 25-1, with 16 KOs.

In Welterweight action, Aron Martinez defeated Prenice Brewer by way of an 8th round split decision victory. Scores from the judges were 77-75 (twice) for Martinez and 77-75 for Brewer.

Martinez' record improved to 18-1-1, with 4 KOs. Brewer's record drops to 16-3-1, with 6 KOs.

In feathweight action... Making his pro boxing debut, Acelino "Popo" Freitas' newphew Vitor Freitas-Jones defeated Rocco Espinoza with a 1st round knock-out at the 2 minute 11 second mark.

Heavyweight Action...

Also making his proffesional boxing debut in a 4 rounder, Brett Rather scored an unanimous decsion over Jamal Woods with scores of 40-36 (twice) and 39-37.
