According to a report by Ben Dirs, published by the BBC, Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants a rematch with Ricky Hatton. According to Hatton's promotional team, Mayweather is considering fighting Hatton at Wembley Stadium next spring.

Richard Schaefer the CEO for Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions is quoted by the BBC in regards to the seriousness of the proposed rematch. Schaefer states: "It's very likely that Floyd will come over next spring. Floyd
and his manager Al Hayman are very serious about it."

Hatton has publically lashed out at the referee from their fight back in December, and desperatley wants a rematch with Mayweather.

Schaefer says Mayweather Jr needs to first get past De La Hoya, and also noted that Mayweather Jr. is aware of Hatton's displeasure for the referee's performance: "While Floyd would have to get past Oscar first, he knows that Ricky has talked about the referee," said Scahefer, adding: "He wants to show that he will repeat what happened the first time and fighting in front of 100,000 fans would be huge motivation for Floyd."
