Ricky Hatton Beats David Beckham

Ricky Hatton's strong fan support is so impressive that he has become a bigger draw than fellow Briton, David Beckham. In fact, according to CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, Richard Schaefer, Hatton has become the biggest ticket seller in the world.

Quoted by Pat Sheehan of The Sun UK, Schaefer is blown away by Hatton’s drawing power. Schaefer stated: "When Becks plays soccer in the States, he sells 22,000 tickets. When Hatton fights in Las Vegas, there’s 60,000
there cheering him on."

That is not the only reason Schaefer is impressed, but he is also impressed by how quickly tickets for a Hatton event sells. "But Ricky has already sold out the City of Manchester Stadium — and that holds around 52,000 — for his bout against Juan Lazcano in May," said Schaefer, adding: "It’s not only the amount of tickets Ricky can sell — but also the time in which he does it."

Schaefer further told the Publication: "Around 15,000 were sold in pre-sales and the rest were gone in a couple of days. Unbelievable!"
