According to a recent interview by Salven Lagumbay for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, for Manny Pacquiao to take on Oscar De La Hoya in a fight, it should be worth between $30 million and $40 million and not any amount less.

Lagumbay quotes Pacquiao on his reaction to a comment that he should get at least $10,000,000 to fight De la Hoya. Pacquiao, who was speaking during a yacht cruise on Monday was quoted by the publications, stating:. “It will be a major task for me to fight De la Hoya."

Pacquiao added: "If we fight, I’ll ask between $30 million to $40 million for myself. I would look pitiful if Oscar bowls me over.”

Pacquiao also spoke on the huge difference in their height and weight. Pacquiao at 5-foot-6 is willing to fight De La Hoya who stands at 5-10 1/2 and will fight at either 146 or 147 pounds, where Pacquiao feel it will not be a disadvantage.

Pacquiao then stated: "I weigh around 146 when I am training hard and still eating. I can fight De La Hoya even at 147 lb.”
