Promoter Bob Arum has told scribe Robert Morales of presstelegram.com that Oscar De La Hoya vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. II is a done deal. Arum who was hoping to have his fighter Miguel Cotto face off against De La Hoya next, is sure Mayweather Jr. is De La Hoya's next fight.

Quoted by Morales in regards to a rematch fight with Mayweather and Oscar, Arum stated: "That fight is a done deal."

Arum tells the publication that there was never a chance De La Hoya vs. Cotto, adding there was never any discussions between himself and Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions.

Arum stated: "I don't think Oscar really wanted to fight Cotto," adding. "I think he used a possible fight with Cotto to put leverage on Mayweather in their negotiations. I knew it wasn't going to happen because the truth is, if Oscar fought Cotto, he'd be in for a serious beating.

Arum then took a stab at Mayweather Jr. a fighter he once promoted, saying "And with Mayweather, he just plays around. It's not a real ... nobody gets hurt."
