In a recent article by Pat Sheehan for the thesun.co.uk, Ricky "Hitman" Hatton was quoted, revealing that he is willing to take on Oscar De La Hoya. Hatton is ready to face De La Hoya but only as a catchweight contest.

Quoted by the publication in regards to a fight with Boxing's number one draw, De La Hoya, Hatton stated: "I’d fight Oscar but my natural fighting weight is light-welter, so if we did fight it would have to be at a catch-weight, somewhere in between."

Hatton added: "Even so, I’m not sure if that would be suited for me."

In regards to still being motivated after losing his perfect record to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last month, Hatton said: "I still have the motivation. I owe it to my fans and my family."

Hatton added: "I’ve won four world titles and fought the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world."

"I owe it to myself to make sure my last fight is not one where I’ve been beaten and knocked out."
