From Boxing to Entertainment, Floyd Mayweather Jr sets up Huge Event Next Weekend

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is busy these days and not just with his Boxing ventures. Last year Floyd Mayweather Jr. tested the waters in entertainment promotions and this year is taking that experience to a whole new level. According to Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather Jr's close friend and advisor, next weekend in Mayweather Jr's hometown, Grand Rapids, Mayweather Jr. is giving fans the "Mayweather Experience."

The three day event, organized by Mayweather Jr. will include a performance by Cedric the Entertainer. Other activities
included in the "Mayweather Experience," a rap battle and celebrity basketball game.

Ellerbe quoted by The Grand Rapids Press, stated: "Floyd is one of the biggest stars in entertainment and so he believes in doing things at the highest level."

Ellerbe added: "And he believes his city in Grand Rapids is the best city in the world, and that's what he wanted to do, bring the best of the best to the city....This was all his idea."

Tickets to each event can be bought through ticketmaster.

According to The Grand Rapids Press:
"The King of the Ring Freestyle Battle" rap contest, 7 p.m. Feb. 8 at The DeltaPlex Arena, 2500 Turner Ave. NW. The prize is $10,000.
•Money Mayweather Celebrity Basketball Game,to benefit the Floyd Mayweather Foundation, 4 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Van Andel Arena.
•Mayweather Promotions presents the Kid Capri Birthday Bash, 9:30 p.m. Feb.
9 at DeVos Place. There is a Best Dressed Contest. Tickets are $27.50 and on sale at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
•Mayweather Promotions Presents Cedric "The Entertainer" Comedy Show, 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at Van Andel Arena. Tickets are $37.50 and go on sale at 5 p.m.
