Ricky Hatton has a strong desire to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr in a rematch. Hatton claims he was not given "a fair crack of the whip" when he was defeated in December by Mayweather Jr..

Hatton quoted in The Times, stated: "I don't want my last fight to be that fight, me on my back getting counted out to my first defeat."

Hatton added: "What sort of a champion would I be if I didn't come back and try and prove myself?"

"If you're a man, that's what you do. So I'd like to fight Floyd again; last time, I don't think I was given a fair crack of the whip."

Hatton strongly feels the actions from referee Joe Cortez hurt his chances. Hatton feels Cortez's refusal to allow him to get in Mayweather's face and fight his own fight left him demoralized.

Hatton stated: "I have a lot of respect for Mr Cortez. Maybe he just had an off-night. And I was a little bit over-keen, over-eager and I made the cardinal sin of losing my composure."
