A recent article by sportinglife.com reports that the World light-heavyweight champion Clinton Woods has told Roy Jones Jr. he has a desire for a rematch after Jones Jr. himself expressed interest in a rematch. Jones Jr. fought and stopped Woods in six rounds in 2002.

Woods must first get through Antonio Tarver. The two are set to face off in Florida on April 12.

Quoted on Sportinglife,Woods stated: "I would love to fight Roy Jones again and this time I would beat him."

Woods feels he has improved all around: "I've improved beyond all recognition. I avenged my defeat to Glencoffe Johnson and I would do the same to Jones," said Woods.

Many people, including Jones Jr. himself feel Woods will defeat Tarver. If Woods does defeat Tarver, then fans should expect that Jones Jr. and Woods will enter into negotiations for a rematch.
