After Kelly Pavlik's twelve round Unanimous decision over Jermain Taylor this past Saturday, plans for Kelly Pavlik and Felix Trinidad to meet in New York on June 7 may not come off. Trinidad's father feels his son might not be able to make the middleweight limit.

"They have mentioned his name to us, but I am more than sure that the 160-pound division is going to be a thing of the past for Tito," Trinidad Sr. told El Neuvo Dia.

Trinidad's father added: "I would not advise Tito to do that. If he wants to fight Tito, it would have to be at another weight."

Pavlik's promoter Bob Arum would love to have his fighter face Trinidad, but has John Duddy on his radar as another option.

"We have to see if Tito can make the weight of 160-pounds and if Trinidad is willing to do the fight," Arum told Primera Hora.

Arum added: "[If he cannot do that] we would go with Pavlik against John Duddy and the fight would be complemented with several Puerto Rican fighters, like Ivan Calderon and Juan Manuel Lopez. Pavlik's people are already interested in making the fight."
