British Boxing sensation Amir Khan would love a showdown in the ring with Ricky Hatton. Khan who fights next on April 5th at the Bolton Arena against Martin Kristjansen in an eliminator for the WBO lightweight belt, doubts a fight with "The Hitman" will ever occur.

Quoted recently in the media in regards to Hatton, Khan had respect and admiration for "The Hitman", stating: "I respect Ricky Hatton for what he's done in boxing - and he inspires me."

Although Khan would love to fight Hatton, he doesn't think Hatton will be around in another year and a half.

"He's good and is a respected fighter. But I don't think he'll be around in 18 months' time. He'll be retired by then, I'm sure of it," said Khan

Khan also discussed the goals he has set for himself, stating: "I want to win everything in the lightweight division - the European belt and then the world titles."
