Promoter Bob Arum is looking at John Duddy as the possible next opponent for the red hot Kelly Pavlik. Arum was looking at a possible showdown with Tito Trinidad next for Pavlik, but due to weight issues, that fight is off the radar for now. However Arum is quoted on MaxBoxing.com that he still believes a fight down the road with Trinidad is possible. Another name in the mix is Roy Jones Jr. Arum has been in touch with Jones Jr's camp and is not ruling out the once regarded Pound for Pound King.

Quoted on MaxBoxing in regards to Pavlik's next fight, Arum stated: " The decisions that have been made so far, is that Duddy is the likely opponent and that the fight will be definitely at Madison Square Garden."

Arum explained why the Trinidad fight isn't happening, saying: "Trinidad is a non-starter because they were very forthright, they didn't mess around, and the father said there is no way he's fighting at any weight lower than 168. So he's gotta defend the title, and obviously, you can't defend the title against a guy who's not going to make the weight." Arum still believes 'Tito' is an option for them down the road in the super middleweight division.

In regards to Pavlik vs Jones Jr., Arum stated: "And so is Roy Jones, his people called me today. We had a very nice conversation with one of Jones' people. They said, 'We understand that Kelly is going to stay at 160. When he's ready to go up to 168, hopefully we can do the fight.'"
