Frank Bruno the Former world heavyweight champion says his heart goes out to Paul Gascoigne. Gascoigne, a former a world-class footballer was sectioned last week under the Mental Health Act. Bruno can easily relate to Gascoigne because he was also sectioned five years ago. Bruno had a mental collapse shortly after breaking up with his wife.

Bruno speaking to the BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek has some words of encouragement for Gascoigne and
also related to the ordeal.

Bruno told the BBC, "I think he'll be very frightened. It's a very horrible place to be but if you're not well they will weigh up the situation and try to calm you down a little bit."

Bruno added: "You're treated like a normal human being because it could happen to anybody. It happens to royals, footballers and actors. It's a very important and delicate thing not to mess around with."

Bruno gave some words of encouragement, saying it was important for anyone in the same situation to look after themselves.

Bruno stated: "It's important to look after yourself because if you don't look after number one there's no-one else to do it. He's got to do a lot of soul-searching and treat every day he gets up as a bonus."
