Miguel Cotto retained his WBA welterweight title last night at Madison Square Garden with a unanimous 12 round decision win over ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley. The fight was exciting and close, which made it a boxing match worthy of your time.Cotto proved he really is one of the best in the game, while Mosley proved his skills are far from gone and can bang with anyone, even at his age of 36.

With his latest victory, Cotto improves to 31-0 with 25 KOs, while Mosley drops to 44-5 with 37 KOs. Scores were
115-113 twice and 116-113 all for Cotto.

On the Undercard, Antonio Margarito took no time in getting the job done, stopping Golden Johnson in the first round. After knocking down Johnson 3 times in the opening round, the referee was forced to stop the bout at the 2:38 mark. It was Margarito's first fight back since losing his WBO welterweight title to Paul Williams over the summer.

Somehow Joel Casamayor walked away with a win over Jose Armando Santa Cruz. Cruz easily out boxed Joel Casamayor, but instead it was Casamayor who was awarded with 12 round split decision.

Scores were 114-113 twice, and 113-114. Casamayor's record improves to 35-3-1 with 21 KOs, while Santa Cruz falls 25-3 with 14 KOs.
