According to published reports, Ricky Hatton wants fight fans to help police track down a historic prize belt that was stolen last month on October 3 in a burglary. The belt was won by Teddy Maguire, a lightweight champion who won the belt 73 years ago. The belt was stolen from his son’s house in Wilmslow, Cheshire. Maguire was awarded the belt after winning a tournament at Blackpool Tower back in 1934.

Hatton who is busy training for his upcoming fight against on December 8 against Floyd Mayweather, in
regards to the stolen belt said: "It takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears to win a belt."I would be devastated if somebody was to steal one of mine.

"If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of this belt, I would ask them to contact their local police station."

A Lancashire jeweller called Eli Percival, designed the belt. The belt features two boxers with their gloves up and they are surrounded by chains and metalwork.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: "The owner is desperate to be reunited with it and is understood to be willing to offer a reward for its safe return."
