According to a report published by the BBC, Jermain Taylor is chasing down Joe Calzaghe. Taylor's promoter Lou DiBella says Calzaghe would be next on his wishlist. Taylor recently lost his WBC and WBO to Kelly Pavlik and has a non-title rematch with Pavlik Las Vegas in this coming February.

Quoted by the BBC, DiBella in regards to looking past Pavlik stated: "It's hard to look past this fight but, knowing Jermain, if he wins, Joe would be the fight he wants."

DiBella added: "If he succeeds in this rematch I would be very surprised if he didn't say 'Go pursue Calzaghe'."

DiBella praised Calzaghe for being the best fighter out there after Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Quoted in the BBC, DiBella added:

"At this point in time I think anyone who knows boxing knows that the second best fighter in the world is Calzaghe and that's only because Floyd Mayweather is out there.

"I think Calzaghe has had a tremendous year and has stamped his status as one of the great super-middleweights of all time."
