Edwin Valero Returns; Opponent Named

According to published reports in the media, Edwin Valero, also known as Doug Fischer's Son, or as I like to call him Edwin "Kid Fischer" Valero, is set to return to the ring on December 15. The fight reportedly will take place in Cancun, Mexico.

Valero will put his WBA lightweight title on the line when he faces off against Mexico's Juan Carlos Salgado.

Reports in the media indicate that Mexican Jose Gomez confirmed that Salgado will be Edwin Valero’s next opponent at the “Champions night”.

Valero, who sports an impressive 22 wins all by KO, will be the main even on the card. The card will also feature Venezuelan fighter, Jorge Linares, the WBO lightweight champion.

Linares is scheduled to fight against Mexico's Gamaliel “Plátono” Diaz.
