Carl Froch has dissed Joe Calzaghe for years, however these days Froch has changed his tune. Froch who is set to take on Robin Reid next Friday, has made his latest feelings on Calzaghe public, giving respect and admiration to Calzaghe.

“Joe’s record as champion has to make him one of the best,” said Froch, who was quoted in the media. “Obviously in boxing you goad your opponents and try to touch a nerve. But I’ve a lot of respect for Calzaghe and what he’s achieved.”

Froch’s promoter, Mick Hennessy would love to have Calzaghe face Froch, but these days Calzaghe is looking in other directions and Froch seems to have accepted that a fight with Calzaghe is never going to materialize.

“It’s a shame, because it would be a great fight for British boxing,” he said. “But I’ll just have to look elsewhere for my world title chance."

Calzaghe faces off against Mikkel Kesser tonight. HBO World Championship Boxing will broadcast this world super middleweight championship fight LIVE in the United States, starting tonight at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. It's a fight you will not want to miss.

Froch who will be present at ringside, is expected to call out the winner
of tonight's bout.
