Oscar De La Hoya expresses interest in the location of his May 5th fight

In a recent article written by Lance Pugmire and published for the Los Angeles Times, Oscar De La Hoya is quoted in having interest in staging his return fight on May 5th at Los Angeles's Dodger Stadium. Although De La Hoya hasn't officially proposed the idea to officials, a team spokeswoman says the idea is interesting and something they'd like to discuss if Golden Boy Promotions gives them a call.

"The Dodgers are the team in L.A., it's history in the making," De La Hoya said who was quoted in the LA Times refereing
to the Baseball team.

In regards to the possibility of staging De La Hoya's next fight at the open venue, Dodgers spokeswoman Camille Johnston stated: "It's something we'd be happy to discuss with them if they give us a call,"

Johnston added: "It's an interesting possibility."

The LA Times noted that first and last boxing card at the stadium was on held on the date of March 21, 1963.

It was a dark day for Boxing on that date as featherweight champion Davey Moore fell backward in the 10th round in his fight with challenger Sugar Ramos.

It was During the fall that Moore struck the back of his neck on the bottom rope. The result ended with Moore suffering a brain stem injury. Moore would died days
later from the injury.
