There has been talk from fans and critics alike for the last few years calling for Evander Holyfield to retire. Holyfield has been one of the greatest heavyweights, but in recent times has shown his age.

Holyfield is now set for another title shot. This time the 46 year old boxer is heading to Zurich, Switzerland to take on the 7-foot giant, Nikolai Valuev on December 20th. The fight will put Valuev's WBA heavyweight title on the line.

Quoted recently by Jeff Shultz for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Holyfield stated he knew he'd get another title shot, and being patient is what kept him going. Holyfield stated to the publication: “I knew I would get one more shot; I just had to be patient." Holyfield went on to add he realizes his time is almost up, stating: "But I realized my time is running out, and I’ve got to get this thing pretty soon. My whole thing, how old do you want to be when you pursue this?”
