Floyd Mayweather Sr., the highly respected trainer has strong feelings that Oscar De La Hoya would have beaten Manny Pacquiao, had De La Hoya retained his services. For training for his fight with Pacquiao, De La Hoya went with Nacho Beristain instead of his regular trainer, Mayweather Sr.

Quoted recently by the Grand Rapids Press, Mayweather Sr. stated in regards to Beristain: "Nacho Beristain didn't do anything with Oscar."

Guaranteeing De La Hoya would've won under his tutelage, Mayweather Sr. went on to add: "All Oscar had to do was catch Pacquiao's right jab with his right hand and fire that hook over the top. About three or four times doing that and he would've taken that jab away, I guarantee you. He would've stopped him."
