Roy Jones Jr Disses Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins and Fernando Vargas

At a recent conference to help hype Roy Jones Jr. vs. Tito Trinidad, set for Jan. 19 (HBO pay-per-view, 9 p.m.) at Madison Square Garden, Jones Jr was on hand to answer many questions from the media. One of the questions asked of Jones Jr. was related to the importance of the fight.
One of the questions asked of Jones Jr. was what does a win mean for him in this fight? In giving his response, Jones Jr. dissed a few of the names Tito has fought against in the past, claiming none of those guys are Jones
Jr's equal. Jones Jr. named Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya and Fernando Vargas as fighters not on his level.?
When asked the question what does a win in this fight mean for him, Jones Jr. responded with: “A win doesn't mean much. He’s got to go. He’s got to go in fo'. Just to win the fight would not be good enough for me at this time. He has to go. I really don't care when; he's just got to go."
Jones Jr. then added: "The way I see it, Bernard Hopkins is not as good as me. Oscar De La Hoya is not as good as me. Fernando Vargas? Not as good as me. None of those guys can be my equal, and they stopped him [ Trinidad ].
Promoter of the event Don King also chimed in: “That is why I am so honored and pleased that I am a great part of this event. I think you are all going to see a new Roy Jones. This is role-model time, when everyone says ‘No, you can't,’ you say, ‘Yes, I can.’”
