Amir Khan has a huge task ahead of him if he wants to be known well and respected by Boxing Fans in North America. This Saturday he will take a big step forward when he makes his American debut at New York's famed Madison Square Garden, against Paulie Malignaggi.

Khan who sports a professional record of 22-1, with 16 KOs, is excited about making his debut at the Madison Square Garden. Quoted by SportingLife UK, Khan drew comparisons with Prince Naseem Hamed, who also
made his debut at Madison Square Garden. Khan, speaking in third person stated: "Naseem Hamed had his debut there and now Amir Khan is going to have his debut there and that's always been a big ambition of mine."

Khan went on to add: "It's my time now. Nas was here 12 or 13 years ago and boxing's changed so much since then and now it's Amir Khan's turn and I want to build it on my own."

Malignaggi certainly isn't an easy fight, and it should make for an excellent night of Boxing. I remember Hamed very well when he fought. His fighting style was different and he was very entertaining. Khan will have big shoes to fill if he wants to be as big or bigger than Hamed.
