Quoted in the L.A. Times, Promoter Bob Arum who is busy promoting this weekend's mega fight between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, discussed Oscar De La Hoya.

De La Hoya is set for a retirement match this coming December 6th. In regards to a fight with either Tito Trinidad or Floyd Mayweather Jr., Arum discussed why these fighters will not be utilized for De La Hoya's farewell fight.

De La Hoya has lost to both Trinidad and Mayweather Jr., so it would be easy to understand why De La Hoya might want a rematch with either one, but Arum knows neither one will be a candidate for December 6.

Arum stated: "Mayweather is retired and Trinidad walks around weighing 200 pounds."

Arum went on to add: "If Margarito wins, Oscar won't fight him. He won't fight another Mexican in his last fight. I tested him on that. I asked about [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr,, which would be his easiest test. He said no. The Mexicans would hate him."

The rumblings in the Boxing world is that Manny Pacquiao is in negotiations with De La Hoya for his retirement bout.
