Mike Tyson Update

According to a recent report published by the Associated Press, the former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson is scheduled for a hearing later this month in regards to ex-Boxer's arrested last year in Scottsdale Arizona for driving under the influence and possession of drugs.

At the upcoming hearing scheduled for September 24, Tyson could use the apperance to change his plea in a narcotics case.

Tyson has previously pleaded not guilty to charges. The Associate Press further reports that a spokesperson for Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas wouldn't comment on any possible plea agreement with Tyson.

Tyson was arrested back on December 29 in Scottsdale after leaving a night club and being pulled over by the Police. Court records indicate that Officers found cocaine in his pack of cigarettes and bags of cocaine in his back pocket.

Past Media reports have indicated that Thomas promised to pursue jail time for Tyson, citing his past criminal record as his reasoning. Tyson could face up to 7 and a half years in prison.

Quoted by the press earlier this year, Thomas was serious about Tyson's recent run in with the law, stating: "Tyson endangered the public and himself and must be held accountable for his actions"

Thomas added: "It's my hope that a conviction and prison time will help him to break his addictions and learn to comply
with the law."
