In a recent and interesting interview with Roy Jones Jr., conducted by Craig Watt of FightNews, Roy Jones Jr. spoke out on many topics. One of the questions Jones Jr. who faces Danny Green at the Acer Arena in Sydney on Dec 2nd, was asked, was who he felt was the Pound for Pound King in Boxing today? Roy Jones Jr. dropped 3 names, Joe Calzaghe, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Jones Jr. told the publication that had Joe Calzaghe not retired, that Calzaghe would have good claim to the top spot. Roy Jones Jr. stated: "Had Joe Calzaghe not retired from the sport I think he had a good claim for the award and recognition." Jones Jr. went on to add: "...but after he has (retired) then I do think it is a toss up between Manny Pacquaio and Floyd Mayweather."

Does Roy Jones Jr. consider himself a candidate for the pound for pound title? "I could be up there with all of them but I am too old now and they would never give it to me," said Jones Jr., adding: "I still have speed and power."
