In a recent interview with Roy Jones Jr, conducted by Craig Watt for Fightnews, Jones Jr. who is set to face Danny Green at the Acer Arena in Sydney on Dec 2nd, discussed many topics. One of the many intersting questions asked of Jones Jr. by Watt, was if his signature on the re-match with Bernard Hopkins added more pressure to his fight against Danny Green?

Roy Jones Jr. admitted that in some ways it did add the pressure. Jones Jr. stated: "In some ways it has – I have to win to make sure the fight with Bernard Hopkins stays intact but it is not relevant in that I am totally focused on winning a version of the cruiserweight title and cementing my legacy in the sport of boxing."

Roy Jones Jr. went on to add how people expected him to call off the fight with Green. "Many people expected me to call off the fight with Danny," said Jones Jr to the publication, adding: "...but God has given me some great boxing gifts and talents and throughout my rollercoaster ride it is these challenges that motivate me. I am a man of my word and I know how important this fight is here in Australia and Danny had the courage to challenge me and I will repay that in December with an exciting Roy Jones Jr performance."

Jones Jr. went on to add that the fight with Green is one fight he really wants to win, so a Bernard Hopkins rematch really isn't giving him anymore motivation. "I still wanted to win this fight even before the Bernard Hopkins fight was discussed so it doesn’t really bring me any more motivation for this fight than I already had," stated Roy Jones Jr.
