According to an exclusive report out by Neil Reid for New Zealand's Sunday News, David Tua was set to land a fight with Roy Jones Jr., before legal issues with his former management team sidetracked the fight.
According to Reid's report, back in 2003 Tua was in serious negotiations to fight Jones Jr. Fight negotiaotions were in the works but ended when Tua became tangled in legal issues with Kevin Barry and Martin Pugh (Tua's former management team).
Reid further reports that David Tua was set to pocket a whopping $42 million to fight Roy Jones Jr.
Tua's legal case against his former management team is still playing out in New Zealand high court.
