According to reports circulating now in the media, a Half a Million dollar lawsuit has been filed in a U.S. district court. The lawsuit was put forth by a former employee of Miguel Cotto's. The lawsuit is claiming sexual harassment.

Martha Chacon Acevedo the former employee who has brought forth the $500,000 lawsuit, claims that the Boxer had made unwanted romantic advances towards her when she was employed as an administrator of a
residential property owned by Cotto. According to court papers filed, Chacon gave in to Cotto's advances because she feared being fired. After she broke things off with Cotto, she was dismissed from her job in Oct, '08.

Cotto's father, Miguel Cotto Carrasquillo released a statement and claimed the lawsuit and allegations to be "frivolous, empty and a total fabrication." The Cotto's have faith that the courts will resolve everything.

** TMZ.com is reporting that the lawsuit against Cotto is for $261,000, while the Associated Press reports the sum to be $500.000.
