The anticipation of the proposed March 13th HBO Pay-per-view mega event of Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr, has the fans and media riled up in a storm. It's a hot topic and everyone is talking about it. One hot topic related to the mega event over the last week is the Olympic Style Drug testing that Mayweather Jr's side is demanding in order for the fight to take place. The rigorous and multiple testing, a stipulation brought forth during negotiations, will be in place to check both fighter's blood and urine samples against steroids, illegal substances, drugs and chemicals that might improve performance.
In a recent article published by the Manila Standard Today, Manny Pacquiao's Boxing conditioning expert, Alex Ariza is ticked off at the constant insinuations from Mayweather's camp that Pacquiao is on some type of illegal steroid or performance enhancing drugs.
Ariza is not angry at the stipulation of Olympic style drug testing, as he is the man in charge of what Pacquiao puts in his body. Ariza knows Pacquiao fights clean and there is nothing to hide. Ariza has a good, solid reputation in the business and certainly is not known for ever juicing any of his fighters with illegal drugs or steroids. With such a decent reputation, one can understand why Ariza would be pissed at all the steroid talk. Not to mention, Pacquiao has always passed every drug test given to him in his career. He has been tested numerous times by the Nevada State Athletic Commision, and passed every test given to him.
Ariza quoted by the publication does admit that he gives Pacquiao and his other fighters a special blend of something all natural, but never anything such as steroids. Ariza stated: "I am the one in charge, I'm the one responsible for what Manny takes. He has no idea what he takes. He is on the same thing that Amir Khan, Vanes Martirosyan's on and I don’t give my guys any steroids." Ariza added: "What I give them is all natural and it's my own special blend of different things."
Ariza is obviously doing a good job and helps his fighters without breaking rules or laws.
