Boxing Fight Off!? Arum says "NO" fight for Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr and looking for New fight for Pacman! By Johnny Benz (Dec 23, 2009) Doghouse Boxing
Boxing Promoter Bob Arum who represents Manny Pacquiao with his company, Top Rank has told Steve Kim of MaxBoxing that in his opinion, Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr for the proposed date of March 13th is off and he is "Absolutely" looking for another opponent for Pacquiao.
After the news broke on Tuesday evening that Pacquiao was not willing to submit to drug testing involving blood being drawn during training, and Mayweather Jr's side saying that puts the fight in jeopardy, Kim quickly
caught up with Arum and asked the important questions.
Kim asked Arum to give his opinion, will Pacquiao-Mayweather Jr. take place on March 13th? Arum was straight up blunt, stating: "No". Arum went on to explain: "Because Manny is not going to be subjected to blood-testing while he's in training and they’re going to insist on it because they never really wanted to do the fight."
In Kim's report, Arum then went on to admit that he had already begun the process of finding Pacquiao's next fight, stating: "Absolutely, but I don’t want to discuss it till I talk to Manny."
Arum also told MaxBoxing that they were willing to do blood tests before training camp started and a blood test when the fight was over. Arum said his side was also willing to submit to as many urine samples as needed during training, but noted that drawing blood from Pacquiao in training camp would only weaken his fighter.
