Bernard Hopkins ready to Retire from Boxing in June
By John Benz, Doghouse Boxing (April 23, 2009)
Bernard Hopkins is set to retire from Boxing this coming June if he can't find a worthy fight. Hopkins set a deadline for himself of June and is perfectly fine to retire if a fight doesn't materialize by then.

It seems retirement is just might be what Hopkins is looking for. In a recent article by Sports Illustrated, Hopkins was quoted saying that time isn't on his side.

Hopkins who hasn't fought since his impressive victory over Kelly Pavlik last year in October, says he is no fool, has money and a good family.

"The clock isn't on my side," stated Hopkins, adding: "It's hard to start this old cart engine up and shine like I shined against Kelly Pavlik. I'm no fool. I'm financially secure and I have a nice family. That's enough."
