Oscar De La Hoya is fighting one more time this year and then plans to call it quits on his boxing career. Speaking with Reuters in a phone interview, De La Hoya stated this was his final year in boxing and his next fight would be his last.

There were plans in motion to have De La Hoya take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a rematch sometime later this year, but with Mayweather Jr. announcing his retirement last week, the fight seems to be off the table.

Speaking to Reuters, De La Hoya spoke on what he considers are little games from Mayweather, stating the fight needs to happen this year or it won't happen at all. De La Hoya stated: "The time is running out. If Mayweather is playing these little games thinking he can catch me at an older age next year, it's not going to happen. It has to happen by this year."
