Matt Hainy vs. Kreshnik Qato - Mitchell Promotions announces their biggest-ever boxing show
By Media Report (August 9, 2012) Doghouse Boxing
-
Matt Hainy and Kreshnik Qato meet for the English
middleweight championship at Hermitage Leisure Centre in Whitwick on Friday,
October 5 in the rematch every fight fan wants to see.
They clashed for the vacant title in London in June and
after 10 rounds of non-stop action, Qato snatched a razor-thin points decision.
Hainy floored him in the third round and had the referee
not taken a point off him in the later rounds, the Derby favourite would have
snatched a draw on the judges’ scorecards.
Clifton Mitchell, the former heavyweight contender, is
training Hainy for the rematch and said: “Matt won’t leave it to the judges
this time.
“He’s going for the knock out – and knows he has the
power to get it.
“Matt had Kreshnik on the floor and him in trouble
several more times.
“I have to give Kreshnik credit for accepting the
rematch.”
There should be a cracking atmosphere at the North
Leicestershire venue.
Hainy will bring plenty of support from Derby, while
Wembley-based Qato has a big following among the Albanian community.
Mitchell has put together a competitive undercard
featuring more rematches.
Local crowd-pleasers Marc Ketnor and ‘Prince’ Dave Davis
meet again.
Davis snatched a narrow points decision when they boxed
in March that left Ketnor fuming – and there’s also unfinished business between
Paddy Connors and Jody Meikle.
Connors was convinced he did enough to earn the verdict
when they boxed on Mitchell Promotions’ last show – and the Chesterfield
cruiserweight gets the chance to put the record straight.
Red-hot prospects Arfan Iqbal and Louis ‘2 Sweet’ Norman
look to extend their unbeaten records on the show and Jahmaine Smyle, a former
‘Prizefighter’ semi finalist from Leicester, will also be matched.
