London (1st Oct) Lenny Daws is looking to shine at Glow, Bluewater on Saturday 13th October when he takes on the number one rated Finnish fighter and former EU champion Ville Piispanen for the vacant EU Light Welterweight Title.

 

The 12 round fight which is promoted by Hennessy Sports is on the undercard of James DeGale’s European Super Middleweight title defense which is be shown live on Channel 5 from 10pm and in America on Wealth TV.

 

The former two times British champion said “Piispanen can’t be a bad fighter, he’s already held the EU title along with being the number one fighter in Finland, so I expect him to be-coming over to the UK looking for the win.”

 

“He will bring everything he’s got.” added Lenny “We've been studying him on YouTube and looking at his record he’s certainly not going to be a push over.

 

“But as the fight goes on, the crowd will get louder and louder, and he’s not going to like it as my fans are some of the loudest in the world, he will never have experienced anything like it.” Said Daws

 

The Morden based fighter who turned pro back in 2003 and is ranked number two in the EBU ratings also added “ You will see the best Lenny Daws yet, this is my time now. I’m going to show everyone what I can do, and by winning the EU title it is a step in the right direction and once I have achieved this I will sit down with my team and plan my next move.”

The Oct.13 event at Glow, Bluewater in Kent will also see Hennessy Sports latest signing, James DeGale MBE defending his European Super Middleweight title, Middleweight sensation Chris Eubank Jnr in his 7th pro fight and current WBC Super Bantamweight champion Kid Galahad form Sheffield showcasing his slick skills.

 

The undercard will also feature Tyson’s cousin Phill Fury, Brixton’s Dillian Whyte,Jordon Gill from Chatteris, Arfan Iqbal from Derby, Leo D’erlanger from Oxford and local fighter Adam Dingsdale from Hoo in Kent.
