In
the feature bout of the evening, scheduled for 8 rounds in the
lightweight division, Jorge "Machito" Maysonet Jr., (10-0, 9 KOs)
demolished Ramesis Gil (8-5-5, 5 KOs) by way of a first round KO.
From
the beginning of the fight, Maysonet came out very aggressive,
connecting with left and right hooks to the face and body of Gil, who
went down on three occasions.
The referee seen that Gil was unstable to
continue and the fight was halted at the 1:23 mark. Maysonet
has recorded multiple first round knockous and many critics are saying
he could be the next super-star to come out of Puerto Rico.

"Earlier
this year, Ramesis was victorious against very good unbeaten fighters,
but he had never faced someone like me as you can see by the results,"
said Maysonet who is promoted by Warriors Boxing, Universal Promotions
and Gary Shaw Productions. "Tonight's knockout victory shows my talent
is for real and my goal is to bring excitement to my fans in Puerto
Rico. The entire lightweight division better take notice because I'm
coming to conquer."
In
the co-feature bout at 122 pounds, Edgardo "Eggie" Laboy (5-0, 2 KO's)
defeated Jonell "Gato "Nieves (4-1, 3 KOs) by unanimous decision in a
very exciting encounter. The judges' scorecards were 40-36 twice and
39-37, all in favor for Laboy. Laboy was the aggressor during the
fight and landed the better shots, but Nieves fought back hard, and made
the fight interesting. Those who were present witnessed a great fight.

"I
went against a strong opponent, stronger than expected, and I didn't
think he was going to go the distance with all the shots I was landing."
said Laboy who is promoted by Universal Promotions and Gary Shaw
Productions. "However, in this sport to dominated, you have to use your
technique, and thanks to God, we did exactly that."
In
other results, Steven Martínez (13-1, 10 KOs) beat Edgar Pérez (5-1, 3
KOs) by unanimous decision. All three judges' scorecards read 59-55.
Also, Edwin "Puto" Rodríguez (2-0, 2 KOs) defeated Alberto Vélez (0-5)
by way of knockdown in the first round, as did Kenneth Rivera (3-1, 2
KOs) against Pedro Agosto (0-6) and Miguel "el Gallo" Marrero (7-0, 4
KOs) vs. Leroy Padilla (1-8, 1 KOs) and Emmanel" Pirata" De Jesús (2-0,
2 KOs) vs. Eduarod Adorno (2-17, 1 KO).
